Laws & Regulations

In carrying out our business, we work collaboratively with (and report to) numerous federal and state regulatory agencies. Among others, these include: the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), the US Coast Guard (USCG), the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) the US Department of Homeland Security (USDHS), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), the National Weather Service, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), the Alabama Oil and Gas Board (AOGB), the Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC), the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LaDEQ), the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LaDNR), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC).

W&T complies with the safety and environmental laws and regulations created by these regulatory agencies. It is our intent to produce energy and operate our business affairs in a manner that is “beyond” compliance and; in so doing, observe and incorporate certain aspects of industry best practices into our operating activities to further minimize safety and environmental risks.
